Thread OP

One of my Grandson's is named is Tyler James, and on a whim, I Googled his name wondering if there was any plant possibly named that. To my surprise, I got a hit, one being, of all things, a daylily! Hurray! When I moved from South Florida to Upstate SC. I'd never heard of a daylily, and honestly, I could kill silk - never could get anything to grow! In the last 2 yrs it's become a guilty obsession! Lovey dubby

I've tried to find someone who sells this daylily, and I've found the hyberdizer's name, but I can't find any website that has a way to contact him.

Does anyone know how to find out if this is available to purchase, or does anyone have this particular daylily that they can spare a fan of, which of course, I would pay the shipping charges for. Would love to get this and have it planted when they come to visit for the first time, hopefully, next year.

My search will continue with "Lovely Lauren" (daughter) and "For Michael (son) and then Jake (other Grandson) If I can find these 4 daylilys, I (think) I will be finished, at least til then. nodding

TIA for any help!

Welcome to ATP. Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Tinkers has the hybridizer's email listed as: [email protected] (Steve Todd)
but the posting (http://forums.tinkersgardens.c...) is from 2007 so I don't know if the address is till good. If the address still works, perhaps he could help you.

Again, Welcome! to ATP - it is great to see a new poster Big Grin

I also found out that he is listed as "Ahead" on the Lily Auction (or was, at least, in 2009). Perhaps you could reach him through the auction?

Welcome Lami!

Just wanted to warn you - dayliies are addictive. And if you give them 6 hours of sun a day, and talk to them every once in a while ie - "oh you beautiful thing" or even "Grow darn it, grow!" they will reward you. It doesn't help that we are a bunch of friendly enablers here either ~Jan

Thanks for the warm welcomes Smiling

OLDG - Appreciate the email and will see if I can reach Steve Todd via the addy you gave. Hopefully he hasn't changed it since then.

PHILL & LMH, yes, I suffer from what my friend Sandi calls PDD, Plant Distraction Disorder. Once I found there was undiscovered green deep under all that black on my thumb I havent stopped. Daylilies are just one of my many (plant) obsessions since moving to SC. I've put in literally hundreds of plants in a basically bare 3/4 acre yard with daylilies being the one thing I've planted more of than any other plant as of yet. Butterfly bushes are second, but not a close one. On the bright side, better plants than drugs or alcohol, at least it's a pretty and rewarding vice! Hurray!
