I just got a message from HIPS. Of the 40 rhizomes I ended up ordering, 24 are sold out. They gave me the option of a refund or substitution. I am going with the refund and now am looking for a vendor. I have looked at Superstition but really don't like their Facebook format. Do they have a catalog.
Are there other great historic vendors out there?

yes, they have a paper catalog. Bluebird haven a Lot of historics. Snow Peak has quite a few, as does Blue J. There are several others, and if you check the "commercial sources" section on the HIPS site, most are listed there.....Arlyn

I looked at Bluebird Haven, I will go back there. I just need to be a little more organized first because of their format.
I don't know why I keep forgetting about HIPS commercial sources section (except part of those vendors are outdated) but will look at that list again too.
I have an order pending with Snowpeak, just waiting for it to arrive.

"Bloom Tax" on ! The Rascals !! Seriously ,though, Mary, at BlueBird Haven, is a great person to deal with, and has a TON of iris to choose from. You will not be disappointed! If you haven't already, send for a list from Matthews Iris Garden( it's all snail-mail ,there), and be sure to ask about what you want, as he lists only a fraction of what he has. next year, hopefully, I'll have mine on a spreadsheet so you can see what I have, and we'll do some more trading.....Arlyn
