Thread OP

I ordered some pre-cooled Oriental lilies and they arrived today (Zone 7; mid-July 90 degrees). I planted them today--they each had a 1-2" sprout. Does anyone know if they will die? Help?

I personally don't know about pre-cooled lilies, but you might check out this thread; there's a bit of information there:
The thread "Planting pre-chilled bulbs" in Lilies forum

Good luck with them; hope they survive for you!

Pretty much what I said in that thread. Pre-cooled lilies are meant to be sold and planted in the spring. At 90 degrees I doubt that they will grow roots. I would try to give them some shade and not a lot of water. If it tries to bloom snip the top off to remove the buds. Your best hope is for it to come back next year. Vendors who sell sprouted lilies in the middle of summer are not reputable in my opinion.
