Found this along a trail in the woods...(New Hampshire, zone 5b) I have never seen this growing around here before...assuming it's some type of lily, perhaps?

Don't know what it is, but it sure is pretty. I agree that it looks like some type of lily. That's about the extent of my knowledge on that!

Looks like Lilium philadelphicum. There can be some variation in the spotting on these.

It is definitely Lilium philadelphicum. One reads about it as a prairie plant, but it is adaptable to some other bioms, too. I see it occasionally in northern Minnesota in rocky forest openings that could be similar to NH woods.

Hey Evan, I photographed it over the 4th of July weekend in Wentworth, New Hampshire. That's about 2 hours north of where I live in Mason. I'll assume that it's zone 5a up there to my zone 5b here in Mason, and your 6a in your part of Massachusetts. I'd be looking for it mid-June to early/mid July, methinks.
