Yes, I am still almost exclusively interested in species lilies. Since I was active in that other site I have received several species new to me, only a few of which have bloomed yet. Last year, a dry Spring here in Michigan, I very briefly had a bloom of L. washingtonianum, even though I had foolishly watered it! This year I had some blooms in the L. pardalinum group, I think it is L. vollmeri Thumb of 2013-07-23/speciesrok/8b20ed the reverse is yellow, which I think I have a shot of, (these are actually two different plants)

Beautiful! Here is a L. superbum opening today, in spite of foliage having been cooked a bit by the recent, (and now ended), heat wave.Thumb of 2013-07-26/speciesrok/8b86a1

Several of my lilies look bedraggled like that, especially L. michiganense and canadense (don't grow superbum). We've had so much rain for an entire month, and then all of a sudden dried out and with hot weather. Really stressful for all plants...

First blooms of Lilium canadense, from seed collected in the wild by @gemini_sage in Kentucky. Thank's Neal!

This one had one bud last year, but I removed it since the plant didn't seem to be doing that well. I guess I was wrong about that, 'cause look at all the buds now!

That is so, so graceful. Good job growing it.

Very cool, especially the part about seeds collected in the wild. I look forward to the first time I see a species lily in the wild.
Hey, I posted a photo in the plant ID forum of the strangest fungus I have ever ever seen. Really bizarre, definitely of alien origin. Check it out.

I don't know why people are so afraid of fungi. The species that are big enough to see usually mean good things.

Seeing just about any species in the wild for the first time is usually exciting for me. nodding

More pics of the same Lilium canadense's
