Any of you buy from Burgard Farms in Templeton, CA? I wanted an Iris that I saw called 'Dots and Splashes' and this was the only place I could find.
Look what they sent me:Thumb of 2013-07-30/springcolor/460b66 happy girl!! A nice gift too 'Red Head Winifred.

Well I couldn't just order one with postage and all. Green Grin!

You are right , Paul. There are lots of vendors out there, and I think most are honest folks, with a good selection of iris, and provide fair value for one's money. There are some "bummers.", too, but not many ( they seldom get repeat business, and good recommendations, so don't last long. This year I have ordered a LOT of iris, from a LOT of different places, and feel bad, in a way, that next year, when my orders will be a LOT less ( yes, you heard me..LESS), some of these vendors are going to feel that because I don't re-order, there was something wrong with either the product, or the service. I have tried ,this year, to send an e-mail, or letter, to each, after my order arrived, thanking them for the good service I received. The price of the iris I bought this year, while totaling a fair amount, doesn't bother me as much as the postage . Here is where the concept of buying 3-4 more to "even out the shipping costs" come into play! Rolling on the floor laughing And as far as cultivars, wow! Old ones( my favorites !), new ones, and all those in between! At the end of this season, my "collection will span from 2013 intros, all the way back to the dim reaches of the past, with several species iris, and I love 'em all!....Arlyn
