I planted my 2 year old Brug in the ground this year to see if it will do better than it a pot. Full sun, lots of water. I have tons of leaves...but nary a sign of a bud.
When will it bloom?

Have you fertilized it? They're heavy feeders!

Feed them and look for the new leaves. Hopefully they will be sub equal (one side will be shorter where the leaf is attached to the stem). Then you'll know for sure you'll get a bloom, or 20...

Refer to JT's super tutorial on the "Y" and the blooms. In fact, read all the articles he wrote on his site!!!

Good photos! I took 7 pics and none are any good. It's over 100° out there, tho! Here's a blurry leaf pic of an unequal leaf on Eternity. It has bloomed consistently all spring and summer, even with losing all its leaves due to spider mites. It's covered in tiny buds again.

Thumb of 2013-07-31/Bubbles/6fa910

When you see those leaves, look for the tiny bud at the base of the leaf.

Not a sign...they're the only ones I have.

What are the chances of it blooming after being dug out of the ground and put in a pot? or should I just give up this year and let it go dormant?

Wow, I will have to leave that up to some one with experience in that direction.
How long is your growing season?
Do you have a way to keep it in a pot year round? That way it maybe it would have a better chance at blooming.

JT, Charleen, what do you say.
JT how could Lee Anne get this to bloom with her very short growing seaon?
