On Regis & Kelly this morning they are talking about kelp for feeding clematis. I just realized that I have never fertilized my clematis and something should go on there RIGHT NOW! I have quite a supply of fertilizer but what do you suggest?

Thank you
Arlene

This time of year, a sprinkle of limestone, and a good balanced fertilzer is all they really require.

Never being one to waste, I water my houseplants (200+) with a good quality fertilizer and then pour off the overflow from their dishes into a jug. I then pour the contents of that jug (usually 4 fills per watering) over the various clemmies in my yard. I'll only do it until they start to flower, and I'm seeing flower buds on some already so I'll have to stop soon.

A good topdressing of compost is good and either rose or tomato fertilizer is good too!

Arlene just needed a chocolate fix! Don't you love to smell that cocoa mulch? It says "Hershey" to me!
Do you find that it has a tendency to mold but I love it but it is most expensive than regular shredded hardwood in the bags. Sometimes hard to find here. Bet it is the most widely used in the Hershey, pa. area!
