I agree with Pandora, your hibiscus is beautiful Gardengus. Love those with dark/reddish leaves and the swirl pattern of your flower is very pretty. How big is the shrub?

I have to ask Gardengus, what is the animal in your avatar pic?

Kind of reminds me of H. acetosella - but the leaves aren't quite right. I'd love to know what it is as well! Does it make seeds?

It does set seed but I don't know if they would come true because I have this disco bell across the lawn that is also in bloom.

The plants get about 3-4 ft tall

Be glad to save seed if someone wants to give it a try Smiling

Cinta, please save me some seeds. I don't have a white hibiscus. It's been raining so much here (practically everyday) and it's ruining the blooms, so I can't get good photos of the ones I have.

Okay...I took a cutting from Plum Crazy and Summer Storm, put them in moist soil. They look terrible! I'm not sure if I did something wrong or it's just the shock from cutting them? They're all wilted and brown. Maybe I'll just enjoy the ones that I already have and not try to make new ones!

Try a cutting in a glass of water in a sunny window. It has worked every single time for me. If you root them in soil, try spraying the leaves with water and then covering the container with clear plastic. It keeps the moisture in and keeps the leaves from wilting. These die down to the ground each year any ways. You can take all the cuttings you want now.

Just keep them moist. I have planted an entire plant about a month ago, that wilted and lost it's leaves. It rebounded and is now about to bloom.

I just rooted 5 of these in water. It works 100% of the time, and after I plant them they don't even wilt. I gave my mom one I rooted 3 weeks ago and it's blooming!
