It's a beauty, Ted, you'll be glad you got it. Yes the fragrance is fantastic, just don't leave it outside - the raccoons around here think it smells like cookies.

You haven't heard much from me lately because I've been laying low, blinds closed and curtains pulled. The orchid police have been going up and down the street but I haven't seen them in an hour or so so perhaps they're gone. The word must be out that I spent most of the day Saturday at an orchid auction at the USF Botanical Gardens and no less than 21 new orchids followed me home. I was a volunteer so I had to stay until the bloody end and it went from 10 AM until 3 PM. Most of mine were in bloom and I will try to give you a link for the ones that were not.

I'll second that "Wow". I was just thinking you've been conspicuously absent. Holy cow, Jim! You had a regular orchid attack, didn't you! The heck with the orchid police, I think we may need to engage an orchid counselor.
You sure got some beauties, love the Moonlight Perfume, and that Haleahi Serenity is a sublime color. But I think 'Pink Sunrise' is going to the top of my list.

They must have auctioned off 3000 orchids so there were many to choose from. As I first surveyed the bounty, the Myr. Luster was the one that caught my eye. I love Schomburgkias and I knew I would bid hard on it. Some other guy wanted it too so it cost me more than I wanted to pay. Most of the plants went for around $20 with a few fetching only $10 or so. The big Catts that were in bloom cost the most so I would find the same thing not in bloom and pick it up for a song. The orange on the Bc. Fladosa is rare so I went after that one as well. You kind of lose track after a while and are stunned when you finally see all that you bought and the bill for them. Lots of fun however.
Got to get ready to go sing at the nursing home.

Usually my kids buy me 'chids for Xmas, but this year I failed to make my Wish List, my bad! Anyway, I ordered some new babies from Ken to compensate, and they just arrived today. Here they are outside on my patio table, enjoying a warm, humid Florida day. Check out the cool tags with names on one side and a full-color picture on the other! They came through the mail in perfect condition.
Spath. plicata white, Miltassia Royal Robe 'Jerry's Pick', Vanilla planifolia, Slc. Final Touch 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS, Slc. Susan Fender 'Cinnamon Stick' AM/AOS, and Blc. Copper Queen in bloom.
