Thread OP

Not thriving. Leaves develop a silvery sheen and slowly die. It's in a large pot on covered front porch with southern exposure. Gets plenty of water. What's wrong with it?

Hi, Betty. Welcome! to ATP.

Without a picture of the plant or an idea of your heat-zone it's hard to say, but I'd think it might be happier in an east-facing position with shade behind it. These plants seem to prefer the coolest area possible that still gets some filtered sunlight. If the container is in the sun the soil is likely too hot for it.

Mine is under a tree and only gets morning sun. It also requires a LOT of water. LOTS.
