I have some friends who moved to arizona, and I was wondering if iris will grow there with some protection from the sun??? I'd like to send them some if they will grow. Anyone know?

Superstition Iris was originally based in Apache Junction just east of Phoenix, if I remember correctly. I think the company was named after the Superstition Mountains which are visible from the east side of the city. My impression is that TBs will grow there with some care. Don't know if medians would get enough chilling hours to bloom, though.

Isn't there a lot of difference in the weather in Phoenix and say Winslow or Prescott?

Sure, but Phoenix would be one the most inhospitable parts of the state to grow irises I'd think. Maybe over towards Yuma would be even worse? Shrug!

Thanks you guys, I'll have to find out exactly where they have moved to, and maybe send them a box to try.
