Thread OP

I got this unknown iris from a client. I'm trying to find out what it's called. It's a tall bearded iris, ruffled, yellow/gold standards, yellow/gold falls with a white center and brownish red stippling. Gold/orange beard with a gold streak down the center of the falls. Sweet scent, standard green foliage.

There are 1000's of registered iris so it is nearly impossible to name one from a picture. Having said that I would suggest that you ask this question on the Iris Forum. It is a beauty and I would just enjoy it and not worry about the name

I don't believe in IDing an iris from a picture but I've thought about it and that "looks like" 'Radiant Apogee'. Note that I said "looks like".Just a guess. Concern with serious iris growers is that an iris with an unsure ID not be shared or sold with that name.

Would that be a goal for a hybridizer?

Welcome Aquawise. Enjoy the forum.

My first thought was Radiant Apogee also, but more details are needed for a better comparison. Then various contenders can be eliminated or stay in the race. Don't be tempted to accept a name just to accept a name though, be as accurate as possible. Goodluck with the quest.
