Tall Garden Phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Tiara')

Who else here has grown this plant?

I may have set mine out when they were still too small to cope...one has disappeared entirely, and the other looks terrible.

Any successes out there?

I'm trying to decide if I want to reorder, or just let it go...

Is it in full sun? It says it needs to be feed once a month. It sure is beautiful.

Tiara grows easily for me in part sun. Doesn't need much.

You may be surprised, it may grow next spring from the roots. Sure is a pretty one. I got a few small plants from a co-op this spring and some were just too small and they died. Where did you buy this one?

They came from Garden Harvest Supply this spring. They weren't terribly big, but I didn't pay a small fortune for them either.

Mine were placed in an area that gets at least 6 hours of sun throughout the day; however, tree roots may have been in competition. Foolish move on my part, I'm sure; fall planting over tree roots would likely have been a better bet. I'll leave these where they are and see what happens next year...meanwhile, I did order a couple more. I really like this plant!

Sorry to hear about your plants, Spring.

Good move Chelle! The plants are so small I usually re-pot up to a trade gallon and wait till fall, that will give them a chance to grow some good roots and I can keep an eye on them.
