I planted this daylily about 7-8 years ago from Oakes in TN.
In checking around I cannot find where it was ever registered.
Google searches don't tell me much of any real value. Here
is the link for Klehm's Nursery with a picture & description:

Klehm's RED RIBBONS

QUESTIONS:
Does anyone else grow this at ATP?
Is it OK to add it to the database?

Here is my picture:

This is a great daylily. Too bad it was never registered. Thanks for any input.

Daylily 'Red Ribbons' was registered in 1964 by Lenington-G.

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Red Ribbons')

Should this other daylily that was given the same name as a previously registered cultivar, and never registered be added to the database? My inclination is to say no.

According to our database here, Klehm has registered 816 daylilies so not sure why he released this one. Could be he picked the name, started selling it and didn't get approved for the name because it's already been used.

I checked Oakes website & it's no longer listed for sale. Too bad it couldn't have been registered with a new name: It's a very nice plant. I'm happy with it anyway. Thanks Sue for your input.

Maybe it did get a new registered name, if someone were to contact the hybridizer, maybe they could tell you.

Klehm's Song Sparrow Farm and Nursery is still showing this version of 'Red Ribbons' as a Klehm cultivar. I believe I would contact him to see what is going on with it. Strange indeed, especially when you consider Sue's comment about how many Klehm has registered.
