Today I received my first shipment of 6 clems from Brushwood. A second shipment of 4 should be arriving any day. At this point they're all root and just the tiniest bit of top growth, but that will change very, very soon. The ones that came today are:

My second delivery from Brushwood, of four clematis vines, arrived yesterday. These have more top growth than the first delivery. They are:

Patricia Ann Fretwell
Freckles
Starburst
Omoshiro

I couldn't resist getting another Omoshiro.

I googled Brushwood and am wondering about their shipping and handling fees...
Also do you have good luck with these clematis.
Last year there was a business called Simple Clems and I can't get it by googling. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks
Smiling

I have heard alot of good feedback about Brushwood and ordered 6 clems due to arrive in April. I think their shipping is reasonable. Certainly the more you order the better the deal. It was easy to communicate and change my shipping date. Simply Clems , as far as I know , is not selling clems anymore. (too bad...they were very nice!) Does anyone know how Evey is?

I have about 20 clems, the majority of which came from Brushwood. I have always been pleased. Their shipping and packing charge is extremely reasonable- $10 flat fee regardless of size of order. Plus you get a $5 discount on every three plants you order. The clems I have received have always had a good strong root system. I received one clem that looked like it died en route but I planted it and notified Brushwood of the condition. He contacted me immediately and offered to replace but I told him that I had planted it since the root system looked good and we agreed that if it did not put out growth within a few weeks that I would notify him and he would then replace. Within a couple of weeks there was growth and it bloomed later that season.

I need to share my happy blooms. I label all my clems but these two were my only unknowns.
