These beans are new for me. Well, I have been growing beans for years and they are usually pole beans but this year I tried these two varieties. A yellow french fillet bean on the left and a burgundy pole bean on the right. Those yellow french fillet ones are my favorite. But both are producing like mad.

I have a sprout on one of the Yard Long bean seeds, Rita. Put in four or five, maybe the others will come along. If not, I am happy with this one --and glad I didn't already buy seven or eight cages. Hilarious!

Hurray! Hurray! Debra, I am sure more seeds will sprout. Someone has to be first! At first they don't climb but once they get going then they climb really well.

My yard long beans are a mess this year as I decided to grow them in back of some tomatoes. Well, they are invading the tomatoes instead of just going straight up. I haven't kept them picked that well but they still keep chugging out the beans. They have such pretty purple flowers.

Did you put one seed to a tomato cage? I would have put about ten seeds to a tomato cage but now that i think on it that is probably too much.

Slightly sparse but they will grow I am sure. I tend to over crowd things but I planted my yard longs on a trellis and about two inches apart. Besides this will give you a feel for planting beans, at least the climbing types. Then in the spring you will be a bean growing expert. Thumbs up Hilarious!

Oh tomato cages work well for cucumbers to climb on also.

Sigh, why oh why can I not get my cucumbers to climb? They prefer to sprawl on the ground.... Rolling my eyes.

I don't let mine sprawl on the ground. Just get them going. After they they just help themselves. Those tendrils just grab onto the trellis and up they go. Makes the cukes grow straighter also.

Mine didn't climb either. I planted them right against the fence in the garden, and even push them up the fence. They refused to climb. That made the bunny happy though!

I've tied them to the fence. I've given them nice sturdy cages. They ignore me. Blinking

My first bulbs of the fall arrived already today. A 250 box of Early Flame Daffs I bought from ADR Bulbs. I just found it on my porch and opened it now. Better get planting!

Seems early for daffs to me.

Does seem a bit early. I was just thinking about ordering some tulips I want. Sigh, I'm sooooo bad about getting them planted in time.

Good grief! How do you manage to plant that many bulbs? I have trouble managing 2 or 3 dozen! (Why, yes, I AM a sloth! )
