Just wondering... what do you use as a reference to identify them (and other wildflowers)?

I got a wonderful book 'Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest by Mark Turner & Phyllis Gustafson. It's a Timber Press Field Guide. Awesome book that is in color coded sections by bloom color.
You would love it Connie.

Ha! It is sitting right here in front of me. That is kind of why I asked Whistling . I also have "A Field Guide to Pacific States Wildflowers" and one called "Plants of Western Oregon, Washington and British Columbia". That one is more technical with keys to follow. A good reference selection when used together.

Is this the one Connie? https://www.amazon.com/dp/0881927244/

It looks to be an amazing reference book. I may have to get it.

Yes, that is it. Warning: it is not for the non-technical plant enthusiast. Make sure you read the reviews before deciding to buy. I first learned plant ID using keys (self taught, who knows how often I actually got it right Hilarious! ). I just like having the combination of the two types of references.

The Turner/Gustafson book does a pretty good job for the hobbyist and I like that they have those maps showing where the plants can be found.

I just ordered it. I did get to see some of the content on Amazon. Looks like a most interesting book. Thank you Connie for the information. Group hug
