My rosemary died this rainy season. I had it in a long planter with some other herbs and the rain seems to have killed them all. The mint looks like it might come back but nothing else is alive. I will have to put some in a pot by itself and move it out of the rain in the summer I guess. The rain here kills mint and basil, amazing to me that anything would kill mint. In Calif. I used to plant it on the edge of ponds with the roots in the water and under dripping faucets (back when we just let that happen) and it thrived. Here, it starts to turn brown after a couple of heavy rains and is gone by the end of the season. This year I had it and the rosemary in this planter that was against an east wall and most of the rain and storms come from the east. It got a lot less rain there but it wasn't good enough.

When roasting or bbqing a whole chicken, I like to put 2 good size sprigs of rosemary inside the chicken, and sprinkle a few needles under and on top, gives the chicken a really good flavor. Sticking tongue out

Jonna, very strange that the rain kills the mint, I thought you could practically drown it! I lost some of my rosemary because of the rain this summer too.

I think you covered many of the good things you can do with Rosemary, but don't forget the stems! I like to use them as skewers for Chicken Cabobs. You can put onion peices, mushrooms and chicken on the stems, and season how ever you want. I like to drizzle them with olive oil, and season with garlic powder and a cajon seasoning, grill them, and serve them on Dirty Rice.

woofie said:Yes, I do that too, Evan. And since I generally have very large photo files, I save them in a reduced size in my upload folder.

I do the same thing because when I see a picture I want to use, I don't want to have to shuffle through years of photos to find a particular one......hmmmm was that 2005, 2001, 2012? Years have a way of flying by faster than you think and life is too short to be continually searching for photos!
