Your gardens are simply beautiful. I am especially fond of the place where we stopped for coffee. I have a problem with creating a spot like this because we had only a large flat expanse of muddy earth to start with and the rear of our house is 8 steps down to the ground from the deck.

Oh Zuzu may I just stroll through the garden and sit with Evey for coffee and play with the kitties. What a wonderful day that would be.

Zuzu, you really need to publish a book of your cats in the garden photos. Both you garden and your cats should be shared with more people. I really like the lattice cat fence too. What a neat idea.

Thank you, Teri and Rebloomnut. Susan, your new avatar is just adorable. A photographer came here once and took pictures of all the cats. One of them ended up in her calendar for 2004. She was going to come back and do a children's book -- "Zuzu and Her Cats" -- but now that all these years have gone by, I guess she isn't coming back after all.

LOVE all the kitty pictures but my favorite is the last shot with Pepplegoose and those gorgeous blooms!

ZUZU is that viburnum fragrant ? I have one similar that is not fragrant and V carlesi which is fragrant. If the one you Pictured is fragrant , I would love to get a cutting of it.

Not really, John. It just smells like any old shrub to me. Pepplegoose obviously has a keener sense of smell.

Once again, I'm mesmerized! You know, that idea for the book is great! Wouldn't it be wonderful to do a children's book about you and your beautiful kitties and have the proceeds going to cat rescue? It would appeal to several audiences... schools, cat lovers, nature lovers, and more. The possibilities are endless! Did you have a storyline in mind?

Her idea was to tell the cats' stories of their lives before they arrived at my house.

She's a great photographer, Sharon Beals, but I've lost touch with her in the last few years. She did a cat calendar every year (black & white photos) called "Cats Are..." Each calendar page would have a different adjective. My Vanilla was the December 2004 cat. Ironically, his adjective was tough, although he was the sweetest kitty on earth. His pose, with his arms crossed, suggested toughness, though.

According to the calendar on my office wall, it's still December 2004.

Dropped in again to have another look. I'm beginning to want a kitty. We are away from home so much with our many baby sitting duties. How would I keep a cat happy under those circumstances?
