We just started a new thread over on Pests/Diseases - it is for spider identification. Plantladylin was extremely kind in letting me experiment with her photos (they really are exceptional pics). Anyway, she let me know that the photos do not enlarge in this thread (The thread "Spiders and other Arachnids - a pictorial identification system" in Pests and Diseases forum) when clicked on as they did in the original thread (http://garden.org/thread/view_...) . I am not sure what I did wrong - please help Whistling

Also, I was thinking about expanding this idea for each major class of insect, etc., so that, eventually, there will be a "mini-database". My thought is that a person could identify their insect in question just by looking at photos. I would be keeping the same format as the new spider thread. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thank you much!

As for the pictures, it looks like you saved them to your hard drive and then reuploaded them? It looks like you saved the actual thumbnail images. If you want to republish an ATP image somewhere else, it's better to either copy the URL of the image into a new lightbox tag (I can give instructions for this if need be) or else click on the image so it opens full size, and then save the full size image to your drive for later uploading.

Thank you, Dave. That is exactly what I did (download to hard drive - upload to new thread). I don't know where my mind was this morning - it seems that I created a lot of extra, unnecessary work. Anyway, I'll go ahead and just edit the lightbox tag. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Thumbs up

No need for instructions - I actually just finished correcting all of them. I should have used the url from the get-go - I just don't know what I was thinking Confused Whistling Thanks, again, Dave!

Great job OldGardener! Thumbs up I think the pictorial identification system will be a great asset to the Plant Pest/Disease Forum for gardeners, farmers and even those who only grow houseplants, since many of the same insects affect indoor plants as they do those in the garden! You are welcome to use any of my photo's that will help in your endeavor.
