Just got a new baby and would love to hear from anyone who has ever propagated the Chimeras, since it is different from the regular African Violets.

JB: I don't know anything about propagating African Violet Chimera's but Rob's (Violet Barn) has a tutorial about it:

http://www.violetbarn.com/lessons/chimera_violets.htm

And, info from Texas A & M:

http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/tisscult/chimeras/valprop...

And, here's a tutorial using Keikigrowplus: http://www.rachelsreflections.org/Janet2.htm

And, Lyndon Lyon Greenhouses (a reputable dealer) says Chimera's can only be propagated by suckers: http://lyndonlyon.com/AV%20List%20Chimeras%20NF.html

Thank you Lin, I have most of the information you mentioned but I wondered if anyone here on ATP actually tried any of the methods both Rob and Lyndon suggested. Thanks for the other threads I will check them out;

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! What great links they are Lin. I printed them both out and the pictures are so great. I cannot wait to have a second to sit down and really soak up the information. Thanks so much.

You are very welcome! I used to grow AV's and a few other Gesneriads but never Chimera's. I remember folks talking about the Chimera's on another AV forum a few years ago but don't really remember anything about them.
