Agh, tomato hornworms are so obnoxious!

Oh man.....I know that feeling well. Now I know to start checking for those evil creatures when August hits. So far I have not seen any at my house.

But tell her to not give up!

I can't say it was a relief to see that it isn't just happening to me. I wonder if there is any organic way to handle this. i do not want resort to using pesticides. I'm new to this so I am sure a lot of folks out there are more experienced. Any suggestions?

We haven't seen a hornworm for two years. No pesticides. But we have tons of birds so they seem to be taking care of them for us. Aything you can do to attract birds, including orioles, barn swallows, blackbirds, bluebirds, flycatchers, grackles and sparrows

Plant extra tomato plants then stand back and admire the hummingbird moths when they emerge.

I agree with Arlene. Attract the birds to your yard and they take care of the problem. I would put a bird feeding station very, very near your tomato plants. The birds will fly into your tomato patch and soon spot any bugs or worms. Works for me.

Well that is looking really good in size and shape. I think you will get the best tomatos from this plant. But you have to grow it very carefully. Good luck, glad to see the photos.
