The vine grows thick & covers the ground

It also has these long shoots that grow out of it

In the middle picture there's grass and other things growing mixed in with the vine because of where it's growing. If anyone knows what it is i would appreciate the information.

thank you dave,

This vine has came back 2 years in a row.I think i am going to mark it this fall and put a trellis there for it next summer. It would be beautiful growing on a trellis.Do you know if it's a perennial or reseeds?

I looked in the data base & found a little very little info about it on google & it's a perennial.

Actually... clitoria is an upright non vining herbaceous perennial.
This plant is a centrosema virginianum Note the wider flower shape.

I've been potting up some of these wonderful natives this year...

I looked at some of the pictures in the database and noticed some looked more like a bush and not a vine. What i have in my yard is definately a vine running all over the ground.

So mine is centrosema virginianum and not Atlantic pigeonwings (Clitoria mariana)

The flowers are beautiful and really look alike in both plants!!

Thank you
