What's going on with this thing? I've had it for 2 years no problem and every time this happens it perks up quickly. However, this time it hasn't perked up and it's been 5 hours since I watered it. it can't be root rot cause not enough time has gone by. I did however repot this thing 2 days ago.

I've grown Aglaonema's for a long time but I've never seen this happen. Sometimes curling leaves can be caused by a virus. It's really hard to say from a photo though what the problem might be. Do you have a botanical garden in your area where maybe you could inquire of a master gardener who might be able to take a look at your plant in person to diagnose the issue, or possibly ask a local nurseryman?

You could post this on our Aroid Forum too, we have some very knowledgeable folks over there who'd be familiar with this type of plant and may be able to offer suggestions:

Sometimes a plant can suffer a bit of transplant shock. You recently repotted this one, in the last 2 days, so give it a chanceโ€ฆHold back on any further wateringโ€ฆAfter repotting, you watered it in to settle the soil around the root ball...Aglaonemas, in my experience, appreciate a bit of 'drying out'. In other wordsโ€ฆThey don't like being constantly wet/moist. Give it a couple/few days, and see how it respondsโ€ฆBut do be sure to come back and update!

Anything else I can do to increase the chances of survival? This plant is very special to me. I hope it won't lose half of its foliage either.

I think it was a combo of too much light and a little shock from transplanting.

Thumbs up Glad to hear it's doing better! I keep my Aglaonema's on the dry side ... but we have a lot of humidity here in Florida and that helps.
