Is Hibiscus syriacus 'Meehanii' a sterile cultivar or does it produce fertile seeds?

I have no doubt it will produce from seed...it's been around since the late 1800's. Most H. syriacus will easily drop seeds and send up plants the next year, depending on your winters and location. However, you can easily propagate them by cuttings also, which is what I do. Doing cuttings gives you a plant that will produce flowers the next year.

That hibiscus and Sugar Tip are both listed as sterile. My Sugar Tip has never produced any seedlings. I have considered taking cuttings to see if I can root them!
