Did you walk the entire 5 miles?
Nice flowers... I grow a couple of rattleboxes in my garden...

Are you legally permitted to collect seeds? Most national forests and arboretums... don't permit...

Yes, I walked the entire 5 miles. Collecting in this area would be illegal.

I just had a look as well to see Horntoad/Jay's collection of plants and can see photos of flowers near a wall, porch, pool and pond and think all are lovely garden settings.
Hope you were not suggesting that anyone would collect plants from a protected location along the 5 mile hike.

Josephine, yes they are common here in the sandy wallum islands. It is one of my favourite native flowers. They are quite an aesthetically coloured and structured flower that draw the eye despite size. The native plant people say it is a good container plant and I was surprised to find I had several growing in an old wheel barrow.

Also from today. This must be the last bloom for the season for this terrestrial ground orchid. I was surprised to see this flower on an uncleared allotment. Dragon Orchid Cryptostylis subulata. Alias Large-tongued Orchid, Cow Orchid, Moose Orchid.

And Glen, please send more pictures when you can. It's winter here so not much growing right now.

I agree. Can't get enough of those wildflower photos. Here the only color out there now are a few blooms on the 'Alabama Crimson' honeysuckle.

That Dragon Orchid is very neat as well, it looks like orchids are plentiful in you area.
I wish that was the case here, but we have very few and they are not common, however we are blessed with many beautiful wildflowers. Smiling
