Smiling My yard is exploding with the newest 'crop' of Gulf Frits! After devouring my Passi. vines, all the cats made their trek to my front porch, and more precisely, my chair.

And now, this morning, they have matured, and are 'coming alive'!

And several are waiting no time to start mating!
A truly wonderful sight! And soon I'll be able to use my chair again! Smiling

Hey that's cool! The tiny passion vine cutting I planted last year is a huge obnoxious vine this year, but it's not being eaten. I hate to keep cutting off chunks of it, but I never dreamed it would not be decimated like my Mom's is, or was. It didn't even come back this year, after being dinner to so many for years. The yard is full of butterflies, including that kind. I don't get it.

I wonderโ€ฆWhat kind of P. is it? I'm kind of a newbie to these, but they are becoming a 'passion' Green Grin! of mine. I have heard that there is a Passi. that doesn't seem to be a favorite of butterflies, but at the moment, it won't come to meโ€ฆI think I made a note of it somewhere. I'll have to see if I can find it.

IDK, but it came from a cutting from Mom's vine. It's cool to get a rare look at the flowers, but I expected it to be gone by now, eaten.

I've still got chrysalises around that haven't emerged...and one caterpillar. The passi that keeps its foliage the longest for me is P. caerulea. Almost all winters down here, there's still foliage on the vines all winter. Will have to wait and see on this winter...so much cold before the end of the year, that I'm wondering what January will be like!
