I saw a sign at my local nursery 90% off tropicals...Well that wheel on the car turned so fast into the lot..... Rolling on the floor laughing

She was bagging up cuttings from the mini-succulent seminar they had the weekend before. I asked her what she was doing with them she said throwing them away because they did not have roots and they were getting ready for a different seminar next week.

I told her throw them in the my bag with my plants.

This is what I got. Some more cuttings.....Some more projects to plan.

Gee, Cinta, not being shy really pays off!

Speaking of cuttings, I have been looking at all the planters that I have done this year and noticed that with the maturing growth, I have needed to prune here and there to get back the shape and form of the original design that I had for the planter. So now I end up with all these cuttings that I don't feel like rooting because I will need to drag out more pots and soil. Kind of a cycle that I dread to start over.
Here's my projects that I finished this year which I check over regularly for needed pruning, bugs, etc.

That is so pretty Bev. I see you have a large log in waiting. Rolling on the floor laughing

My collection is building at this point and since I have to bring them in I am going to work something out so I am down to 3-4 large round succulent containers. I am looking at all the thrift stores for the perfect containers to do this and make a desert scene. Because it will be part of the decor of the Sunroom I want it to be attractive. I do not want my sunroom to look like a plant holding room for the winter.

Hetty, they did not have any tropicals that I did not have but when I got there I found some perennials and bushes 50% off and in June and July every 20 you spend they give you a dollar bonus buck. So I had enough bonus bucks to get a lot of the perennals for 90% off. I got.....

A hardy Hibiscus Kopper King for 4.00. It has beautiful purple leaves.
Heucheras for 3.00
and 2 hydrangeas for 5.00 each.

I am planting around a gazebo that I am doing. Because it is in the Septic area I cannot build a permanent structure so I am doing a metal structure that can be taken down if need arises and putting in shallow plants around the structure. Because it is such a large area people keep knocking on my door and sending me letters asking if I want to sale the land for them to build on. Wish me luck.

What I did last year had to be taken down because of the snow. I am doing a metal open roof structure this time so it can stay up this winter. I am attempting give it more presence by planting bushes around the structure vs making the structure the presence. Does that make sense. Rolling on the floor laughing

Okay maybe if I show what I did last year that did not work.
