I have a friend who swapped cuttings with me. Most of them did very well. I discover Styrofoam is 95% air so it roots cuttings better and you only have to change the water once a week!! Anyway most have prominent rootlets along the sides. Should I wait until they have roots or should I plant them now?

I usually wait until the roots are an inch or so long. It won't take very long, maybe another week or so! Then after you pot it up, keep it in the shade until you start seeing new top growth.

I would plant now. As Elaine says, shade shade and more shade. Now fwiw,I plant mine in soil as soon as they get the little white lenticels, those things most of us call "nubbies".
Thank you both. The nublets (what I call rootlets) are larger then the ones you show in the picture. And some have a 1/2 root on the bottom. It is cool enough today to plant so outside I go!!
