I was impressed mostly by the number of lovely blooms in the photo. Funny, I could never take more than a few pics, then I start pulling weeds out of the way, and pretty soon the photography session is forgotten. Good photography takes patience, discipline and attention to detail. My camera is decent, and I can "see" a good set up, but I'm always in a hurry. THen....once I take the photo, I can't find it on my computer to post it! There's so many I want to share and I swear this computer just puts photos in random numbered files.
Huh. Some days my brain files that way too. Confused Sticking tongue out

Cindi, when you upload photos, you should always be able to select exactly where your photos go. I use Picasa to upload and when I finish my edits (crop, resize etc.) I upload and it shows what folder it wants to place the images within My Pictures. If you don't want it in the folder shown, you can select from a dropdown menu to place it in another specific folder (maybe one just labeled as Roses, or Roses 2013) or rename it into a new folder.

Sue - also depends on what OS she's using. XP is much different than Win7, not to mention if she's using a Mac 'cuz I've seen differences between Leopard/Snow Leopard/Lion/Mountain Lion. But yea, there should be an option to put it X folder. I always create a new folder every year (Flowers 13), then by month (Sept), then by time of month (early, mid, late) if I have a lot of pictures (like August was a very picture-y day).

Cindi - I do the same thing, but if I'm using my Canon Rebel, it's too big for me to let hang on my neck while I weed. If I'm using my phone or DH's Sony Cybershot, then yea, I'll pick weeds here & there. But most of the time, I take pictures on my way out to work, so I know I don't have time to weed, plus I don't want green-stained hands for work! Plus that's usually the best time as I get the new buds before they're fried by the sun during the day and a lot of times we have storms rolling in in the evening and I don't wanna take pictures in the rain or get eaten alive by skeeters.

Whew, hot out! Roses are frying, this is maybe the second time this summer we have had this hot. It's breezy now but the air is warm. Staying indoors and getting lots of sewing done, getting ready to list a few things on Etsy but I listed them in my Cubits store first for friends and family, linked below. (shameless plug) Green Grin!
I took these a couple of days ago, 2 roses looking beautiful together in a pretty glass and silver vase. Glad I brought them inside considering how bad the blooms look out there right now. The pinky Rose (Rosa 'Heaven on Earth') and the coral Rose (Rosa 'Lady Emma Hamilton') Such yumminess!

In my garden it has the same "nodding" problem that many of the Austins have. The blooms are too heavy for the canes.

Cindi, are you sure that's Heaven on Earth? I have never seen any images of it with so few petals. It's a very full petaled cupped bloom.

Humm, my neighbor has the fence company here this morning and they are replacing the split rail fence that runs along his property line. It has totally disintegrated and only some rotted posts are left. He has been telling me they will replace that fence for near ten years so pardon me if I was very surprised to see it actually being done. Hilarious!

It is shady there now as my mixed shrub border runs along the property line and on the neighbors side a giant cut leaf maple. But that fence being put back reminded me of how it looked when I was a child and it was sunny there. Those neighbors had pretty red climbing roses growing all along that split rail fence. Those red roses are a strong memory of mine as it really looked stunning when they bloomed each June.

Goodness! You and your neighbor are truly long-term residents! Do you know, could you guess, what rose it was on the old fence? Too bad that it isn't still around.

It's been raining almost steadily now for a week here. We need it desperately, don't get me wrong, and I'm exceedingly grateful we're getting it. However, we didn't need ALL the rain for the year in 1 week. People are being killed by the floods now. The burn areas have no undergrowth to help absorb, and with the soil being burned, it's just running off. Roads are collapsing due to the walls of water coming down. It's pretty horrible here now. But, my yard looks green, if a bit soggy!!

holy crap... I've never seen flooding this bad in my entire life. Of course, over 95% of my life has been in desert areas, so of course I wouldn't see flooding like this.

http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BT_...
http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BT_...

Streets here in the metro, BIG heavily-traveled roads, are being shut down, whole towns along the front range, are being evacuated.. most of Boulder has been shut down... the US Coast Guard is being sent here w/their helicopters to rescue people...

amazing. Simply amazing. My phone keeps getting the big NWS warnings of flash flooding in my area. Me personally, I'm very safe as I'm on a kind-of-a-hill. But some others, damn.

It's pretty much stopped raining here. It's rained for over 24 hours straight, with little breaks here & there of like 30-60 minutes. But it'll be starting up again according to the radar. We need it desperately, but I guess this shows the state just how horrible our infrastructure truly is and how badly we need our roads & bridges rebuilt.

USGS has stated that this is a 100 year flood. Wheeeeeee... I've gotten over 4" of rain in the past 4 days (started raining Monday night here at my house & hasn't stopped yet.. still raining now)

But I have some soggy roses. Pretty, but soggy.
