Look at the flower of Ipomoea tuberculata, isn't this a yellow to die for?

That puts other yellows I have grown to shame. I am infatuated with that lovely contrasting eye. I tip my hat to you.

Thanks, Alana. I couldn't stop looking at it or taking photos of it yesterday.

Joseph, I am not seeing any information or photos of that one in our database. Hint, hint?

Oh my .. what a wonderful Winter treat - love that ruby throat! I'd love to grow MG's in Winter but being the thugs they are, I haven't got enough time to extricate victims they tend to mug.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

Joseph, what size are those blooms? And wherever did you get seeds! Been doing some looking, and there is very little information available on that particular MG.

The flowers are maybe 3 inches diameter. I have not grown them in winter (yet) but since they flower up so late in the summer it may be a good plan to see if they flower indoors during the winter months. Look on the Silverhill Seeds web site (located in South Africa) or on eBay for seeds. They are offered only sporadically.

Oh my. 3 inches? Yum. Going to have to do some more looking. Those really are striking. I grew some tiny ones once (Ipomoea hederifolia ), but these are much more interesting!
