That will be a beautiful way to grow them Jo Ann.
The amount of plants would be determined by which ones you choose. Some of the semps can get quite large.
I could see a lovely Sempervivum 'Slate' in the mix, and maybe the bright colored Sedum 'Lemon Curl' which keeps that amazing bright yellow color throughout the growing season, if in full sun.

What type of colors do you want to go with?

You and I chatted about multi colored assemblage with sedums.
I would love some recommendations for large semps as many of my choices are mostly the same diameter.
I love the Slate and the yellow sedum. The seasonal color change is difficult to deal with

I wanted some soft or pale melon colors and greens with red tips.I think they all are compatible colors if planted in the right spots.
This is the currant collage. I eliminated the scenecio. It wont get thru the winter.

It says it's hardy to zone 6a. I'm not sure if Chris grows that one or not.

Ogon is marginal here - some winters it makes it, some not.

Good morning Jo Ann and Chris.
Sounds like it might make it for Jo Ann then, since she is two zones higher.

Ogon is a wonderful sedum Jo Ann!! Even if it spreads and begins taking over, the other plants just seem to grow right up and through it in my pots!! And it doesn't seem to be that finicky about sunshine or water! Hurray! I want to get the other makinoi varieties since I've loved this one so much! A total fan! Hurray!
