Does anybody have some seeds they could spare? I'm not getting far with cuttings (probably because the ones available here are old and shrivelled up) and was wondering how I would do with seeds? I'd gladly pay for them and shipping. Seeds can enter Canada through regular post without any trouble. Please tree mail me if you have some. I prefer the reds, pinks, peaches and multi coloured as opposed to the white coloured varieties.

Brian, I can send you some seeds but be aware that seeds do not come true to the parent, and you will need to wait 3+ years for blooms....

Thanks Hetty! Really appreciated. I tip my hat to you. I'm well aware that seedlings are often very different from their parents, I've been growing plants from seed for quite a while now. As for the time, I waited 9 years for my first seedling orchid to bloom so I think I have enough patience.

Thanks To Hetty and Ginger I now have a number of thriving plumeria seedlings! They are in communal pots (3) and growing very well. Question now is, how long do I leave them in the pots they are in and do I keep them growing right through the winter and next summer before they rest? Or should they be kept growing for a couple years before a winter rest?

They should not go dormant their first winter, and as soon as spring arrives you should step them up substantially. I have found that seedlings do best when given plenty of space their first year.

Hetty, I have never grown plumeria from seed, having only named varieties obtained as cuttings. Is there a source for seeds? I would like to try my hand at growing plumeria from seed, knowing that I may not get the flower that I expected. All plumeria flowers are beautiful to me!

I may have some seeds available in the spring, or you can try EBay, just steer well clear of the ones promising you purple with pink polka dots.... Thumbs down

I finally took some photos of my plumeria seedlings from the seeds I got from Ginger and Hetty. It's time to move them out of my light stand as they were up against the lights and getting burned as well as being attacked by spider mites because of the really dry air under the lights. The next step is WHEN and HOW do I transplant them into individual pots? Suggestions?

Now would be good. Put them in gallon pots and fertilize.

Hmmmm! I haven't seen my dinning room table in almost a year, plants all over it. Maybe if I set up some plant lights I can use the living room for 20 - 1 gal pots of plumeria? Rolling on the floor laughing
