What a wonderful surprise Joy!
I have seen photos of dahlias blooming with odd colors like this and I read that it is a mutation of genes in the tuber and that sometimes it lasts only for one season or it can last several years and then return to its original bloom colors.

This one is suppose to have the cream in the middle and the orange on the outside of the bloom. I once had a Dahlia named 'Freak Of Nature' that did this sort of thing all the time.
