Great big tight hugs Mary, the kind that squeeze the breath out of you.

We know sweet Casey girl is running & young & happy but her human mom is hurting & missing her special girl. We grieve with you Mary & we also rejoice with you.

Letting her go on was the most loving, unselfish gift you could have ever given her. My Russell was waiting for her, too. Our own hurts from their loss don't stop, we just learn to adapt and hope the way we live respects the unstinting love these amazing creatures gave to us.

Thanks, everyone, for your hugs and sympathy. I was kind of numb for most of the weekend, and it's hitting a little harder today.

I know you will remember her always. I had a red doberman named Misty many years back now. I still think of that dog. Out of all my dogs (and I loved them all) That one was extra special. So I do know how you feel.
