This year most of my corn has some brown kernals. They look like something might have sucked the juice out of them. I never find any bugs under the husks, but the outsides have a lot of box elder beetles. Could they be the guilty parties? I garden organically, so controls are limited. Or maybe it isn't the beetles? Any ideas?

I really don't know but I do know the leaf footed bugs we have in excess here do similar things. Hope it's still edible.

What are leaf footed bugs?

We eat around the brown spots.

Thanks. I see that they are related to the squash bug and also the conifer beetle. Not on my corn, tho.

That's good. No one else jumped in to answer either. Maybe they still will!
