Kareoke I have 7 brugmansia in the ground, 38 in pots. I have no idea what the names or what hybrids they are. Two years ago I developed a severe pain in my lower abdomen. The diagnoses was prostate cancer PSA 9.1 and type 2 diabetes. I could hardly walk or drive taking Oxy and GABA plus insulin. I read every label for sugar and had a month of radiation therapy along with xray, bone scan, and 2 anal probes. I said all that to say this. while I couldn't walk a lot, I started to get hooked on brugmansia seeds. I soaked them, peeled them and rooted them in paper cups, then planted them in clay pots. The first time one of the bloomed nothing could knock the smile off my face. Now my PSA is 1.22 and
in the last 6 months I've only used insulin twice. That is why I'm so passionate about Brugs. They gave me purpose.

Stephan...I'm north of 20. To get to my neck of the woods going north you would turn just before the overpass. If you'd like to stop by some time, tree-mail me and I'll give you directions. Be happy to send you off with cuttings...not too mang brugs anymore, but several plumeria will need haircuts before going in whats left of my GH. Green Grin! Green Grin!

I am so happy for you,I hated losing all my plants but I had reaction to drugs in hospital and it ruptured the tendons in my legs and made walking hard, my problem last year was age [86] since then I have also had cancer surgery, so now other than the brug named for me[ Mrs Doris] I rely on looking at all the pictures.
Hopefully I will be around next year and can share some cuttings from my plant.

A Miss Doris now on my short list. When my G-Kids asked Papa are you going to die. I told them, not until after all of you graduate from college. Eighty-six is just a number. When you are 102 you can start to think old. Once my first 2 plants bloomed and had 4 inch new stems. I'd root them and keep them by the fireplace over the winter months, with grow light, so that I'd always have a copy. Plus, all of us on this blog need you around, to be able to say we know a celebrity.

Miss Doris has been on my list for a while. I have written to a few people trying to get that one. The only person who wrote me back as Miss Dorris herself. If you find it let me know. I really want it in my little collection. I only have a had full more to find. Then I will be in little brug heaven!

The only person I know that has it is the man who owns it, named it, and registered it with my name, and that is Chocolate Brug. {William Boyd}
This is Mrs Doris, a beautiful double.

Hello All. I just had a thought (very unusual for me). Does anyone know what cross pollination created the hybrid Kaskade. And, if not can you direct me to someone who may know. If I can't buy this plant I can create it. Thanks.

You can make the same cross, but the seeds will not necessarly "creat" the same plant.
