Maybe it's been there for a while and I never noticed, but I see we have advertising here now. Just a reminder to everyone to be sure to click on those ads and check them out frequently as it brings in revenue!

I haven't seen advertising here in a long time. On what section of the page are they shown?

Its showing up on the far right hand side of this page for me..... under the banner.

Yes, it's been on the far right side panel below the banner for some time now ... and I do click on stuff that I find of interest and want to check out; others I just ignore.

It's been there for a while. I'm not sure why you haven't noticed but it's often easy to overlook stuff that's way over on the right side of the page. In the database we have advertising running along the bottom of the pages, as well.

I guess it's because on so many website I've just programmed my brain to ignore all the ads. But on here I do want to click on the interesting ones!

I've been seeing something strange in the right-side ads area lately; it's a large "download" button with no additional information given. Any ideas what this might be?

chelle's post is a good reminder that if you see something "off" to please tell Dave. Once there was an advertisement of a female that was totally inappropriate and just as I started to tree mail Dave about it, it was gone. Someone else must have seen it as well.

I do have the ability to block inappropriate ads and have done so a few times in the past. The ads here should be interesting, tasteful and relevant.

chelle, I would run some scans for malware on your computer. I have found out recently that some types of malware can place ads on a web site to make it look like it is from that site, when it is not. I would be suspicious of any ad that said download.

I too saw that earlier. Had not noticed it before, but will pay closer attention now. I also need to do a "cleaning" of stuff

I had kind of an odd one happen, too, either yesterday or today, don't remember which. I had been looking at some bulbs from Michigan Bulb and had stuffed a few things into the cart, but had left them there for a while because I wasn't totally certain I was going to order them. I had a message show up at the bottom of one of the pages here, reminding me that I had stuff in my cart! Didn't really bother me, but it did seem just a bit strange.

Big Brother watching over you does seem strange, but hopefully here BIG DAVE is watching over you.

Wow, that is really strange, and I have no idea how they did that. I'd suspect malware because I have nothing on ATP that would permit such behavior.

And BTW, never order from Michigan Bulb...

Well, I have ordered a few things from them in the past and was actually quite pleased. Some lilacs and peonies that were a very good price and the quality was perfectly fine. Those are certainly some damning comments, tho. Too late, I went ahead and placed the order yesterday, but it's not very big, and if I have problems, I'll complain to my credit card company. I'm REALLY good at complaining.
And I just scanned my computer for nasties, and nothing showed up. Using MS Security Essentials.
