I would like to see what other perennials or annuals you plant with your daylilies. If we get enough response to this, I may make it a forum of it's own. Many people are interested in what to plant daylilies with, or, as their collection grows, what to plant with their daylilies... LOL

I'll start with a few of my favorite combinations. Most of my daylilies are in beds of just daylilies. I don't have many of them out with the rest of the perennials, so I don't have a lot of examples.

Oscie Whatley's MAPLE HUES looks especially lovely with blue balloon flowers. I have a pic that shows more balloon flowers, but it is a tall photo rather than wide, and a lot of it would be cut off.

This is at Sharon Fitzpatrick's garden. The daylily is SELMA LONG LEGS and I don't know what phlox it is. This was taken several years ago, when digital cameras did not have the resolution they have now, so pardon if it's a bit grainy.

Dottie Warrell has the most beautiful mixed border with phlox, daylilies, true lilies, coneflowers etc.

I am going to try not cropping this because trying to make it square will ruin the overall photo.

Oh, I love these pics of mixed beds! I need some new ideas before Spring gets here.

I grow a little bit of everything with my daylilies. These pics might not be the best examples as you have to look pretty hard to see the daylilies. There are paths, but it's hard to tell and many plants are growing in containers. I'll see if I can find some pics from my front beds too. This is my back yard.

Here is my back yard at another angle. It's too big an area to fit it all into one photo.

Here's another. My garden is pretty much 'Cottage garden' Style. I can grow things but if something ends up as a good combo, it's by chance. I lack an artistic eye.

Joy, that is absolutely beautiful. I tried my hand at cottage gardening, but didn't achieve close to what you have.

I'd like to know what a plant is... in your second photo, just to the left of the lavender phlox, in between it and the white and peach flowers (dahlias?) in the center of the photo is an interesting plant.... I love things with tall spiky blooms mixed with daylilies, and the color looks like a rosy lavender purple.... it is just down from the center of the photo.

Joy I love those pics. I have been thinking of trying to get my garden to look more cottage style.

Joy, I like your garden with all the color. I like lots of color in the garden. I do not have an eye for matching up colors, so I just mix it all in together where I can.

I have daylilies with just daylilies but I also have them with lilies and want to add spring bulbs. I like the cottage garden look myself and want lots of color. The other thing I do is add lots of annuals for summer long color. Will have to find some pics.
