This is one of my faves-a micro mini Phal (I think) orchid mounted on a 5 inch stick. I has been hanging in my kitchen window for almost 3 years and blooms frequently. I have yet to get a photo that really captures it well. It shouldn't really be alive, has survived 2 major illnesses during which I was unable to care for it. Guess you could call us both survivors Angel

I had some moth orchids that lasted for several years and were in bloom almost all the time. Then the Big C intervened and I ran out of the time to keep up with them. But they were so beautiful while they lasted! If you can keep doing what you're doing you'll enjoy yours for many years to come! Plants respond well to care!

Wow, that's beautiful! How did you get it mounted on the stick? Looks like a Cattleya to me actually, with the shape. It looks incredibly healthy and lovely! Do you just mist it? I LOVE orchids but I'm still pretty new to them.

Thanks! Can't take much credit for it, It loves to bloom! They just wrapped moss around the roots and tied it on with fishing line. the plant does the rest. Yes, you can mist it. Every couple of days I hold it under a tiny
stream of tepid water to wet the stick and the moss. Easy, as it hangs in the window over my kitchen sink. Should really use a purified water I guess, but I get lazy. Also have a Haraelle odorata (mini orchid) on a slightly larger stick. has tiny flowers. Got both from Andy's Orchids several years ago. Have you been to the ATP Orchids forum yet?

Do you know what your orchids are? some do very well in the house, but many need a sun room or greenhouse environment to be happy. Once you figure out which ones like your environment, they are as easy as any houseplant.

Two of mine are just moths......the 3rd is a mini that Kathy (Boojum) from MA gave me.....that one has to be grown cold & dry, so it's happy with me!

Boojum is awesome! she has an incredible home, beautiful grounds and if I remember correctly, greenhouse! She was very helpful when I had questions. The moths do very well in house, depending on the exposure you give them. Mine loved my sw windows! Just curious, know the name of your mini? I love mini's as I have space constraints.
