What a beautiful well kept garden. Not a weed in sight. I think this is the ideal way to grow iris, in rows and water in furrows. Mine do OK in beds but I love the look of yours.

Thanks Paul,
This gets to be a lot of work. I have backed off hybridizing because of the space requirements (and my aching back!). Now I'm down to just a few keepers in this row of SDB's. I also kept an IB which probably only I could like. Rows do save a lot of weeding and cultivating.

Here is my IB Seedling not in the picture. It's from a cross of Wish Upon A Star (SDB) X Wise (MDB). I do this only for fun.....not a living! Smiling

I would love to raise a bunch of seedlings each year but it is not realistic at this stage in my life. That is a pretty seedling Leon.

Yes, that gets to be true for all of us eventually (myself included)! But, as I look at the contributions you have made here at ATP it tells me you have already given all of us immeasurable enjoyment in your pictures! And that in itself is a wonderful labor of love. I especially enjoyed one of your posts this morning entitled, "Irises Come in All the Colors of the Rainbow". I doubt if I will continue to raise as many as in the past: And I have made some very steep cuts this year alone. I simply can't keep up with everything we grow. So do not feel alone Paul........you're not!
