I wonder how these might do in a container? I had them once and they grew well, but it is very hot and dry here and because I was growing those and hostas in shade and keeping it all moist it was a struggle to keep the dogs from digging. That was a battle I eventually lost along with the Toad Lilies and Hostas. For a while they were nice and not hard to grow.

There are buds - blooms on the way

I want to grow toad lilies and can't find them! I've tried ordering via a local garden center and that didn't work; I just looked through some of the bulb suppliers on the Green Pages and the ones I checked didn't have them.

I didn't work through the whole list but after about five or six I thought I'd come to this thread and ask if any of you who are growing these can suggest a good vendor? I'm only after a few but hope to get some in the ground this season.

I just planted some of these this past month. I have my fingers crossed that they will establish before it gets too cold here. I got mine from Edelweiss in Oregon. One of mine had a couple of blooms as well, which was such a treat! Hope mine do as well as yours, Jennifer! I had no idea they could have so many blooms!

This was by far my best year for them. Sadly we had a freeze last night and now they look poopy

I was just looking at Breck's website; they have some lovely toad lilies! I'd love to have several different colors.

Mine got frozen night before last. So now they're droopy and sad, but next year they will be glorious I expect!

They are such delightful little flowers! And so many color variations. I forget who but someone posted a yellow one in the photo contest, I believe.
