I purchased a dwarf Papaver miyabeanum 'Moondance' from Sunny Border in Conn. It is coming up as Papaver nudicaule subsp. nudicaule 'Moondance' in our plant database. When I check the RHS Plant Finder P. miyabeanum is coming up as a specific plant not a syn of P. nudicaule. Can anyone help me out because I'm at a loss as to the correct name of my plant.

Both of these names (P. nudicaule subsp. nudicaule and P. miyabeanum) are accepted names and neither is a synonym of the other. It's possible that each has a cultivar named 'Moondance,' but it's also possible that the nursery was in error and was listing the wrong species.
