Every so often I get creative and usually all the animals (and people) run. This morning I was enjoying the lovely weather and rummaging in the barn after chores. Posey just got too close.

I'll bet Posey will recruit her friends to launch a fence destruction project to ensure that you have less spare time in the future!

Hilarious! Whistling ...yep.

The title of this thread really caught my notice! Eyebrows raised and eyes wide, I thought, "what spare time...is there such a thing?" Green Grin!

Posey might feel differently, but I love your sense of joie de vivre, Joy!

It's been a while since I've felt that I had the freedom to just spend some farm time in purely pleasurable and relaxing pursuits, but I'm rediscovering such things now that my son is a bit older and doing his own thing more often.

Just spending a half-hour or so shining up my old mare is free time well-spent. Lovey dubby It's a great stress reliever. Now I remember why I keep a horse in the first place. Big Grin

Very pretty horse, Chelle. Sometimes I miss having large animals.

Thank you.

She's a doll. Lovey dubby But, I swear I could almost hear her say to herself,..."Oh, is that what we're doing now...the camera game? Okay, let's make sure I look bored to death...or, if Mom actually manages to catch my attention, (*snickers to herself*) I'll just always have my tail raised on the opposite side..." I thought she was doing her "runway model look", "I'm sooo bored, but I know I'm gooooorgeous".

Chelle, she is lovely! Spare time is something I am learning to make on occasion.you are so right about using your horse as a stress reliever. Just this morning I walked up to my old Clydesdale mare and just stuck my nose in her neck and smelled. I love the smell of horse, even though I don't get the chance to ride anymore, it is the most wonderful, relaxing thing to just brush on her.

And our latest beef to table had me alternately laughing and chasing till I removed his necklace. I told him not to party so hard.

No one got hurt but it would have made the finals of the $100,000 video show. I actually threw a rope over his head, dallied around a nearby post oak, then worked the rope till he was snubbed to the tree. Gentle as he was, it was still a very unhappy steer. And trying to figure out just how the chair needed to be turned so it would come off. After the first try, he was not cooperative. I got a second rope (boy I miss my horse) and tied to the chair, used a second oak for leverage, and let him fight. It took about 20 seconds before the chair popped off with nary a scratch.
It took me a little longer to shake the loop off his head, I settled on giving him a pan of feed, then it was a piece of cake.

The steer sure does look funny in his necklace, but I'm really glad it was you wrestling with him and not me! I think I might have called for help on that one.

That's a lot of lovely horse, Joy. Lovey dubby She looks like she has a sweet disposition, too.
