Hello, I'm new to this forum and I love the heufelli's. I had gotten Purple Haze several years ago (I'm assuming it was correct) and I shared with some friends. Sadly, my section didn't survive last winter. One of the friends mailed me back a piece which appeared quite green. I planted it in the sun with the other semps & it got nice & dark. I had also sent this friend some of 'Melanoheuff'. Now, I think he may have sent me back the wrong one. They appear very similar. Does anyone have any ideas on how to tell them apart? I read the descriptions and it was really no help :-(
(please excuse the touch of sunburn on the poor Purple Haze)

Hi Pattymae Welcome! to ATP, I saw your post and just wanted to say hello! I am not familiar with those heufs, they sure look pretty though! From the photos the color looks the same but the shape looks different. Someone who knows more than I do with answer your question soon enough though I'm sure! I tip my hat to you.

Hi Pattymae, it was buggin me so I looked into the semps...
Check out this german list (go to the site and scroll down to your purple passion, or melanoheuff and you'll see that yours seem to be correctly ID'd,
they only look similar now but as they grow I think you'll notice differences!
Cheers

Hi Patty, and a big Welcome! to ATP.
You can do a comparison of what the two look like in different seasons. At some point they should look different from each other. Grow them side by side to make sure the conditions are the same.
