This is a NOID Vriesea with the largest scape and bracts I have ever seen. It bloomed last year and had an ordinary 4-6" scape. This bloom is now 18" tall with numerous 6" bracts that have opened up leaning away from the central scape. It is putting on quite a show. Alas, I won't see it perform the "act" again. It will ship out on Monday. The picture was taken above the bloom, so you can't tell the height.

My 'Marbled Rainbow' bromeliads are all starting to bloom and will be in full bloom in a week or two. The first two pictures were taken yesterday and the full bloom picture was taken last spring.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
