Tiffany, I believe your purple Morning Glory is Morning Glory (Ipomoea cordatotriloba). They are in bloom all over right now. I question your ID on the Baccharis halimifolia. I have it in my yard and yours just doesn't look right to me. Although I have been known to be wrong on occasion.

TY, Jay! You're the 3rd person to suggest that name for that MG. I put the Baccharis pic on ID forum to see what the consensus is. TY for expressing your concern!

@purpleinopp,
Thanks for posting the photos; this has helped me to identify a plant that sprouted up after some recent road construction in my area.

Naturally, I dug up a few and brought the little plants home hoping to make an identification. When the flowers appeared I still had no clue.
But when you posted the photo for Jaquemontia tamnifolia I went Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Thank You!

Keep up the good work!

Tee, your plant is lovely, and it looks like a plant I have called Ageratina herbacea,
Could it be the same plant?

Hilarious! Giggling because I see you have the same problem as I do, trying to get pictures of plants without doggies trying to get in the shot. If possible, they will stand on top of the plant, even if I'm just looking at it.

The flower is a total match, but the leaves don't have that divided 'tri lobe' shape, and look a little big. Ipomoea leaves can be variable though... and IDK if size matters in this case.

I was noticing that about the leaves, mine aren't as chiseled as some of the others in photos. But, as you said, plants can be variable, especially in the wild.

Here's some pics on an Alabama website that shows the variability of the leaves. I was noticing that some of the new leaves are hart shaped. I'll have to add a pic to the database.
