I thought I had already posted to this thread. I must not have clicked on finish. The above arrangement absolutely fascinates me, because of that big, unusual, grey plant. Anyone know what it is? Lovey dubby

It is amazing how they are mixing moisture loving plants with succulents. Beautiful. I wonder what that big bluish succulent looking plant is in pic #4.

If you go back Paul can you ask them for a name?

I would guess that the bluish plant is a Tillandsia or something closely related.

This is one of our native Florida Tillandsias growing in a Japanese Plum tree in my yard that dropped from a tree at Dad's house. The second is another native Tillandsia that dropped out of a tree in my backyard similar to the earlier one in Paul's beautiful picture from the nursery, sat on a bed of Spaghnum Moss in a container...(They love rooting themselves into that)

A baby from that one was used in this one...

The Spanish Moss entangled on the twig is also a native Tillandsia from the Oaks in my yard.

Tillandsias are great grassy looking accents in containers!

They go right through freezes here. Great indoor Winter air plants elsewhere indoors! They would need to be misted daily in dry indoor heating, or use a humidifier near...(they are tough)

Don't shy away from Tillandsia should you find one for a bowl Lynn! If they can be used in Utah, you can do them in Oregon! Smiling

I'm sure they are house plants in Utah.
I just don't do well with house plants anymore. *Blush*

Thank you. I have had several business trips to Florida and Puerto Rico and I never saw them that big. I smoggled a few in from PR one year but they did not survive. Probably because I was bad so they died. Hilarious!

I'm an Oregonian in high dessert of Bend. I have a love for them! I will post a pic of our natural x mas tree. Air plants all over it. I sell tons of them and our people seem to be having good luck with them. I do try to recommend creating a humid environment if possible, like plugged into a favorite plant or glass bowl? Love the shared pics!
