I haven't got any Orchids except a set of 4 Paphiopedilum I got in a couple trades.
I am admiring them from distance, though.
The biggest one just decided to bloom.
I love it!
Thanks!
Really? You would? How come? You've got an Orchid heaven over there...
Is this the only one you haven't got?
I've got three more, much smaller.... wondering what color they bloom.
Why wouldn't I like your pretty Paph? The reason I have so many Orchids is that I started to love them one by one! And now a bit more than 20 years later.....
That is stunning Calin! The first time I ever saw a Lady slipper, I was walking with my Grandfather through some woods behind his cabin in Maine. I must have been about 6 or 7 years old. It was the prettiest little yellow and pink. That was when I learned that it was against the law in Maine to pick them, they were at that time a protected species. I'm not sure that they still are. I've not seen another one since. Beautiful color!
Tara, you were surely looking at Cypripediums in Maine. And they are gorgeous to come across when you walk through the woods here in the North East!
We always track Cypripedium acaule during May and I think they are just magical to see blooming in their habitat.
Have a look here, we don't have your yellow one though. http://garden.org/thread/view_...
What beautiful pics Ursula! I'm glad to now know that they were/are Cypripediums. It's an image I won't ever forget even some fifty years later. Oh how I miss New England!
